Aviation

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. – Isaiah 40:31

On Thursday March 5th 2015 the Aviation science class of GAAA for the academic year 2014-2015 went on a field trip to the Dekalb Peachtree Airport to visit the Skybound Aviation flight School. The objective was to put into practice the theory taught in class. Specifically they were to practice the Pre-flight procedures, which are a set of protocols which a pilot should do on the aircraft before every flight so that any physical damage to the aircraft or failures in the external controls can be detected. The students really learnt to associate the theory with the hands on practice on a real aircraft and it was a surreal experience for many students who had never been that close to an airplane. They got a chance to sit at the controls and familiarize themselves with as many aspects of the aircraft as they could. It was really hands-on and realistic and in doing so they could appreciate the simulators that they practiced on in school.
