History of Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy
Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy (GAAA) began with a question from a small group of parents, “What will it take to add the 11th and 12th grades to Berean Junior Academy?” The year was 1980 and the Home and School, began the complex process of becoming a senior academy, through fund raising and applying to the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist for senior academy status. The vacated office building, of the South Atlantic Conference, located on Chickamauga Ave was converted from office space and renovated into classrooms to accommodate the new 11th and 12th grade students. Members of the constituent churches in the Metro Atlanta area along with parents volunteered their time and means towards the transformation of the existing facility.
In 2004 GAAA moved into a modern facility where the educational process begins with Berean Child Development Center (BCDC), Berean Christian Junior Academy (BCJA) and concluding with Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy. GAAA has a college preparatory curriculum and is accredited through the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and was awarded the Adventist Edge; School of excellence by the Southern Union of Seventh-day Adventist.
God has blessed GAAA from the first graduating class of 1983 to the present with an enrollment of gifted students, a beautiful building, wonderful supportive parents and a certified faculty in the service of educating those who enter her walls.
